Impacted wisdom teeth typically go one of two ways: they’re no concern at all or they’re a big issue. How will it turn out for you? While we hope that they’re no issue, we want to do all that we can to stop them from becoming a concern for you in the future. Here’s a tiny bit of data about how we pull impacted wisdom teeth.
When wisdom teeth are impacted, our skilled dentist will create a space on the gum flap covering the teeth and detach the pearly whites into pieces to keep the amount of bone removed to a minimum. Once the removal process is complete, you might detect a bit of swelling and tenderness in the neck and face: do not worry, this is common and should be expected. Your dentist may suggest using an ice pack or some over-the-counter painkillers to alleviate the pain and soothe your aching face and mouth, in addition to whatever other patches may also be swollen. If the swelling does not lower after a few days, please tell us about it.
